Study of the disaster-causing mechanism and reinforcement measures for soft rock deformation and lining cracking

Underground engineering construction is facing increasingly complex geological conditions and challenges, such as surrounding rock deformation lining cracking, that seriously threaten the safety of tunnel operation. Aiming at these problems, a pipeline crossing jointed expansive mudstone strata was taken an example, disaster characteristics were analyzed through field investigation. The disaster-causing mechanism corresponding control measures studied laboratory tests numerical simulations, which then applied to actual construction. Meanwhile, stress response structure investigated monitoring data. results showed vault settlement horizontal convergence reduced by 64.69 mm 54.74 mm, respectively, under improved scheme. maximum 430.26 kPa scheme, 18.15% lower than original stress. axial force steel arch frame 33.02 kN, ensuring stability supporting safety. Finally, rationality effectiveness reinforcement adopted assessed.
